- While Gibiate is a time travel story, they both have the concept of the old with the new. Old samurais vs new samurais in Samurai Champloo (along with pop culture). In Gibiate, Sensui is a part of the old Japanese culture while, Senroku is the new Japanese culture (guns, gun powder, explosives, and now the new Japanese culture)
