The core of both stories is pretty similar: a bunch of girls hitting on the same guy... lots of fanservice... Cool yet simple action scenes... a world of mythical magic. Though Rosario + Vampire has some more Gothic elements to it. I highly recommend watching it if you liked one or the other! ;)

Both series have an ecchi comedy base, with a pink-haired main heroine, a seductive secondary female, an eccentric lover from the side, and a smaller, magically in-tune girl all gunning for the same, basically normal guy. All the females seeking his affection are much more powerful than the protagonist, and generally have to protect him. Both stories also have a much deeper level of seriousness under the ecchi humor. I prefer Maburaho.
I watched Rosario + Vampire in subs, Maburaho in dubs.

Both shows are a supernatural harem with a little bit of ecchi. The difference being that the main protagonist has a little bit magic whereas the other one is completely human. Both of them feel inadequate, and don't fit around the powerful females that surround them. However, for some odd reason, the powerful females really enjoy his company. The only difference between both shows is that Rosario focuses on supernatural beings: vampires, witches, demons, whereas Maburaho focuses on magic-users. School-life is also a common theme for both.
