Same author, similar values, different plot. Rather than questioning if humans are good or bad through their actions. We question what humans really are through their differences between advanced robots, that are on the precipice of becoming 'human'.

Both are written both by the same Mangaka. Both are overall crime thriller stories that challenge the readers way of thinking and have both a deeper thematical meaning below a phenomenal story that works on its own.

As obvious as this recommendation is, Pluto and Monster are both masterpieces made by Urasawa Naoki, one of the best mangaka ever. These shows have elements of mystery that get viewers captivated into the story and many other side elements that eventually add to the main plot. The characters are interesting and question morale values, and what it means to be human.
