The story is very similar because it revolves around a central character(who actually kindda look alike) surrounded by members of the opposite sex; also, the main story isn't love, but it seems to involve all of the characters.
Aside from both them being very influential into the development of the harem area of romance, both focus on a character that often gets caught up in the antics and shenanigans of their potential love intersts as well as being friends with them as time goes by too and a school like setting as well too.
