Usagi Drop is an easy going slice-of-life while Moribito is more about action and monsters. But ultimately, both boil down to being about a single adult trying to take care of a child. If you enjoy a story that explores the development of parental feelings, then these aren't that different.

Although Seirei no Moribito has an overarching plot and falls more into the "action" genre than "slice of life", the storys' themes and the emotions invoked are very similar. Like Usagi Drop, the main protagonist in Seirei no Moribito is thrust into something like parenthood when she is charged with the care of a young boy. Their life together has ups and downs, slow and fast moments, but they build a strong familial bond throughout the series. Both are beautifully written--Seirei no Moribito even more so in many ways--and both leave the viewer with an overwhelming sense of emotional satisfaction when they've finished.
