Colourful animation and action are both present within these two series. Hamatora is a little bit more dramatic and contains even a little bit of horror, but the two have similar villains - sharp teeth, long hair, and abnormal ability. The two anime also focus on a certain group of people who are young, and definitely weird.

Hamatora and Gatchaman are two rare types of anime that have abundantly colourful palettes, so much so that those bright neon colours might appear overwhelming for some.
That aside, both shows focus on a group of superpowered individuals that are part of a group or agency whose only job is to look into supernatural activities. They have the same feel to them, and if you liked one then you're gonna enjoy the other.
