Both have lots of gore and brutality, epic and dynamic fights, strong and badass characters.
Also both have awful, original ending.
This is a very a very similar anime to Akame ga Kill but it does take a sliver of patience to watch through it, though it is an old anime it is a very good anime.

Alpha Women who take a lead, tells about organizations' movements, but Akame ga Kill is rather warm with its comical character while Claymore faced much serious situations. Not to mention, a careless lead character man. If you like Jeanne d'Arc archetype, then might be liked Claymore surely in the characteristic matter.
