Charlotte and Beyond the Boundary are both anime with a male protagonist who has some kind of supernatural ability meeting a somewhat stern girl who socially isolates herself and has an ability of her own. In fact, nearly the whole cast of characters have supernatural abilities and the few supporting characters that both shows spend a lot of time on are students from the protagonist's school. Both anime also have a somewhat episodic structure up until some serious drama comes up and some slow hints of romance.
The set up between Beyond the Boundary and Charlotte is the same. A bunch of kids with special abilities form a club. They then differ in their purpose. Beyond the Boundary has them fighting demons around town while Charlotte has the kids tasked with going after others with powers that are misusing them.
