Similar in the fact that there are lots of tertiary romances and drama on top of the main story. Main difference is the setting, college vs highschool and Golden Time is more "in depth" with it's drama.

Plot and the pace feels similarly, both MC wants to change his ways plus both have they serious moment and comedy moments.
When I watched the PV of Relife I saw at same time it was going to has some similarly with Golden Time.
ReLIFE is a better, slightly science fictional take on a similar premise, some of the same themes, and even plot developments. It's essentially about a young adult trying to start his life over.
Both are about romance and the story between the Main Characters (MC). Characters have different personalities but are given certain situations. Such as both Male MC had something happen to them which made them find someone they eventually will love. Female characters seems to be very different. But it's a recommendation not finding two of the same animes, so I would try this out.
Both ReLIFE and Golden Time feature characters dealing with personal issues and emotional struggles while trying to move forward in their lives. They both explore themes of self-discovery and personal growth, and feature well-developed characters that viewers can easily relate to.

Confliction. Both ReLife and Golden Time have the MC face some kind of internal conflict with themselves due to prior events.
ReLife does this with Kaizaki and his failed adult life, as well as prior job experiences. Golden Time does this with Tada and his prior life he gets flashbacks to. Both MCs really get to take a retry with life as Tada has amnesia and Kaizaki is doing the experiment.
Both are good rom-com I would recommend to all. Same amount of drama too.
