Really similar animes. (Love triangle, drama, focus on the main character, slice of life etc..)
Kimi No Iru Machi is way more fast-paced, and Golden Time is generally better in his story-telling/animation and characters.
But both shows are really enjoyable if you like romantic comedy with a lot of drama.
When I watched these two anime, the backstory from each MC is kinda similar and somehow gave me tge same type. Both of the male MC's backstory is similar too, moving out from a small village/town to a big city to start a new life.
Both of the anime has a romantic and dramatic story to tell, and both story is focused on the male MC
