Shingeki no Kyojin

If you like the post apocalyptic setting of Freedom where humanity lives within a very constrained existence, you will probably enjoy Shingeki no Kyojin. It's not a space drama, and there really aren't any other similarities with characters or art, but both main characters are on a quest to live freely beyond the tight limits humanity has set because of apocalyptic-like events (think Gurrenn Lagaan).
