The diferences maybe is the shojo romance, but if you like another anime that shows music and arts. This anime is for all family :D
-Both have to do with music
-Both are funny
-Nodame and Yui are similar in a way
-Nodame Cantabile has more music than K-ON! and (in my opinion) it's better than K-ON!
-Defenetly watch Nodame Cantabile, you will not be dissappointed!!! ^_^

Two fun-loving female leads insert themselves into a slice-of-life comedy that revolves around music. While Nodame Cantabile leans towards slapstick and romance, and K-on is more "cute girls doing cute things", they both feature a very similar sense of humor and an overall lighthearted, relaxing mood.
They are similar because both main characters learn music by hearing it, and they have the same voice. They are both about music and there's this funny/comedy thing about the main characters that makes you say " so cute."
