Both anime begins with that the main male character (Chiaki, Ryuji) cleans the house of the main female character (Nodame, Taiga).
Both are funny and about love (among other things).

Although some people may not like either of these series if you happen to like Toradora! then you should definitely check out Nodame Cantabile. Both of these series are funny, will probably have you laughing at least once every episode.
While being drastically different anime, some of the character traits are similar in both anime.
Both anime include a protagonist who meet a troublesome girl who is incapable of taking care of herself. In both anime the girl takes advantage of the guy by coming over the the protagonist's house to eat their food. The girl can't take care of herself and allows her apartment to fill with trash, until the protagonist becomes friends with them and helps them live on their own. The protagonist helps the girl over come her problems and reach the goal they were aiming for.
That is where the similarities end.
