Relatable for people with social anxiety. Both stories are rather simple, but very likeable. Same goes for characters.

Bocchi the rock is more or less K-on but MC is taken directly from Watamote.
Just Bocchi didn't get in the world of dating games but rather started to play guitar.

Both have MC with heavy social anxiety,
both can be too real sometimes,
both also make a lot of jokes about social anxiety, but bocchi jokes are more respectful and not as sad as Watamote.
Two protagonists who are antisocial and you get attached to their way of being ashamed of the world around them, even though one has her hobby for the guitar and the other well... hobby for otaku and video games xD
The 2 have something similar in the life of a hikikomori even though they stand out, there has never been an anime like this since watamote and finally something that can identify me in the best way, for some it will be sad but that is how many of us live in that reality but at least they do not stay stagnant and develop as they

Both MC's suffer from social anxiety and portray somewhat accurate representations of introverts.

Bocchi the Rock quite often feels like a tamer and kinder version of Watamote, leaning less into cringe comedy and allowing its main character to develop friendships and grow as a character, yet still having most of its comedy based off the main character's crippling social anxiety and her attempts to overcome it.
That being said, if you've ever dealt with social anxiety or similar issues, both of these shows will likely hit close to home quite a bit.
Both titles deal with social anxiety, and both present its symptoms and some of the thought processes accompanying it quite realistically. However they're very different in the type of humor they use - Watamote rellies on causing the viewer to feel heavy second hand embarassment, by having the MC (Tomoko) humiliate herself in front of other people. Bocchi the rock, while still using her social anxiety for jokes, is a lot nicer to its main character, and presents her in a much more likeable way.

Both protagonists suffer from extreme shyness and introversion, and their attempts to overcome it turn into comic failures, although in Watamote these are more tragic and somewhat embarrassing, while in Bocchi The Rock! are taken in a more comical and cartoonish way.
Watamote! is the only other anime that I can think of that not only matches Bocchi's internal suffering, if not exceeding it but also spawned a similar response among the community along the lines of "resonating strongly with a few" and such. Be warned, it's not for everyone and is a lot to take in!
As for Bocchi, who doesn't like a socially anxious blob that wants to be popular? Jokes aside, Bocchi the Rock! provides a high degree of relatability much like the one I felt watching Watamote, albeit plenty softer, and no less delusional and self-deprecating.
