Ledo from Gargantia and Aoba from Buddy Complex are sent to another time/universe. Not knowing what will happen to them, they must adapt to their surroundings and find allies to help them get back home. Solve this world's situation and uncover secrets hidden within them. This secret will change them forever. Ledo has been trained for military combat while Aoba has none of that yet. They must live a life they are not used too or else suffer the consequences of their actions.

- Both anime belong to the mech genre.
- Both Aoba and Ledo are suddenly pushed into a lifestyle they are unfamiliar with. Ledo goes from knowing nothing but being a soldier to everyday life on Earth, while Aoba is pulled from his everyday life and thrust into being a soldier in a war.
- Both Aoba and Ledo are pulled from what they know. Ledo ends up on Earth, previously thought to be an abandoned and uninhabited planet, and Aoba is sent to the future.
- Both anime have very similar feels to them, both during the light-hearted parts and the more serious parts.

Okay so both anime fall into the mecha genre. Both of the main characters are thrown into an unfamiliar lifestyle in which they have to adapt to survive (Aoba-> future; Ledo -> Earth). The main characters both drive "special" mecha that makes them unique in their new setting. All in all, the shows have a very similar feel. While I was watching Suisei no Gargantia, I kept thinking about Buddy Complex and how a lot of what was happening was similar. Basically if you liked one, you may like the other
If you like mecha, then you will like these two. Or, in other words, you really should try (if similarities don't bother you). I have spoken.
