Both are Slice of Life anime about cute girls and their experiences.
The manga from both series are from sister publications, so before Kiniro aired, Yuyushiki did small references in magazines and art referencing it. Now that Yuyushiki has ended and Kiniro is airing, Kiniro makes small references to the other in the show!

Yuyushiki and Kiniro Mosaic are two series involving cute girls doing cute things at school. Not only that but there's also a lot of humor thrown around with funny dialogues. There's English dialogues in Kiniro Mosaic while in Yuyushiki, there are sometimes statements that makes little sense but are memorable.
They also follow a slice of life format with no definite storyline.
they are both slice of life anime and both have a group of girls doing normal things together at school. Although, Kiniro Mosaic is more cutesy and moe.
