While both are rather different content-wise -- Kobayashi is CGDCT where as Maou-Sama is mostly a comedy slice of life with some action and drama mixed in, both are what I like to call "reverse isekai," wherein people from a fantasy world enter our world rather than the other way around. The thing mostly in common between the two is in that sense, and in that there tends to be a lot of humor derived from the difference in common sense between the two worlds and the characters from the fantasy world adjusting/reacting to life on Earth. If you've watched Maou-Sama and liked that type of humor   read more

Basically Earth outsiders from a fantasy world come to Earth and learn to integrate with society.

Both follow the premise normal meets supernatural. Tohru is similar to the MC in that sense he was banished from his world and needed somewhere to reside. Only big difference is that Hataraku has some action mixed in.

The protagonists used to be a villains in their homerealm. But after a lost battle they have fled to the human realm, in which they decided to coexist with humans.

-Both are reverse isekai, where beings from another world come to modern day Japan -Both are about the ridiculousness of godlike beings attempting to integrate into society with their limited knowledge of it -Both are about or prominently feature these beings joining the workforce -Both start with just one or two otherworldly entities but more follow in their footsteps

Both are reverse isekai (fictional-type characters living / trapped in the regular human world). However, beyond that, for both of the protagonists their respective shows place a lot of emphasis on their development as characters who are trying to figure out what it means to live as a human. With that said, The Devil is a Part-Timer! has a bit more of a linear plot, as opposed to the more episodic Dragon Maid, but this distinction isn't a deal-breaker if you're looking for parallels in character development.

What can I say? Both are slice of life/comedy animes. The joy of watching the characters interact with each other and how they go about their daily life despite paranormal adventures is the best part. The only downside is how short the shows are and how you have to switch to the manga/LN!

The Devil is a Part-Timer (Hataraku Maou-sama!) is basically the same story as Koabayashi-san except the "otherworldly" characters are demons and heroes instead of good and evil dragons. Both are equally heartwarming slice-of-life comedies starring realistic characters who work day jobs.

Both involve characters that are from a different world trying to adapt to the human world. They even 'bring' some of their friends from their own world into the human world. Both even have the characters working as well. Kobayashi has more females then males though, but do have comedy that's very enjoyable.

Both have characters in a fantasy world adapting to the real world living semi-normal lives. Both the demons in Hataraku Maou-sama and the dragons in Kobayashi's have a superiority complex over the humans on occasion making for some good gags. Characters in both shows are pretty fun too. Hataraku Maou-sama isn't as ecchi as Kobayashi's either. Anyone who likes these backwards isekai shows or likes the idea of a demon lord working at a knockoff McDonalds should definitely check this one out.

Both of these anime are more comedy driven that revolve around a ridiculous opening pretense that turns into a rather bizarre comedy/slice of life. Both shows focus on beings from another realm being put into our world and not really understanding anything. Both series are also only a season (12 or so eps long a piece) so they are both easily watched over a weekend.

Both involve the supernatural becoming involved with the modern world. Both have a supernatural being having a “common” human job. Both have a focus on comedy, but have a deeper subtext. Both have a bit of romance involved. These are similar shows with similar themes.

Alright. Imagine Dragon Maid... with men! Hataraku Maou-sama is about Lord Satan, one of his servants, and his arch nemesis, Hero Amelia, come to Earth and get stuck here. So what do they do? Try their best to fit in, get a job and whatnot. This is a very funny show, I would reccomend!!!

Both shows are good reverse isekai comedies that feature evil monsters from other realms being transported and trapped in the human world and, after deciding to coexist with humans and integrate themselves into society one way or another, they are followed by fellow monsters who also decide to join and integrate the human world and its society. Both shows focus on the ridiculousness of overpowered monsters trying to fit into human society that they have limited knowledge on, heavily featuring the theme of workplace as well as some other recurring gags.

Both are SOLs surrounding a family from a place outside of earth and them slowly learning about how Earth works, along with their corresponding cute/fanservice/funny moments.

Both reverse isekai, both deal with slice of life and are incredibly funny.

slice of life with heavily fantasy elements, with one of the main characters gets thrown from their own fantasy world into ours. very similar in tone

Both series involve beings from another world coming to Earth and learning about the world. Both major characters, Sadao Maou and Tohru Kobayashi both struggle with adjusting to the rules and regulations of society and because of this a lot of comedy is created from their confusion and interactions. Also both series introduce more characters from the same magical world who bring in more comedy through their own unique struggles and all the different characters learn to deal with human society and the issues involving their world together.

- Mythical beings are forced to live in modern day Japan. - Protagonist's rely on improving their views on humans in order to live relatively peaceful lives. - Protagonist's powers are lower than in their own world, so they have to conserve some in order to help loved ones, and in some cases human society. - Both plots follow the ridiculous nature of the characters adapting to human society where they are near equals with humans.
