Though KEY and Sunrise are two very different Studios, Code Geass and Angel Beats are similar in several ways. Both focus on a teen resistance group trying to defeat a force much more powerful than them, and both have that sort of bittersweet feeling that makes you happy and sad at the same time.

If you liked Code Geass for its deft mixing of genres, you may like Angel Beats!. Angel Beats! is not action-driven or filled with mecha like Code Geass, but, like Code Geass, it deals with complex characters and blurred lines between right and wrong. Every character has a story and a reason for doing what he or she does. Both shows have powerful, heart-breaking endings, and, while Angel Beats! is much lighter than Code Geass, both shows are moving, well-executed, and memorable.
Both have a revolutionary group and a school setting and both have a somber feel to them as well too.
