Both are mecha themed stories with quite a bit of action in them also both share the same voice leads too apparently.

Rebel against oppression. Code Geass and Promare are similar in that they both have characters who wish for the equality of all, despite differences among them.
Code Geass has Lelouch, who becomes Zero and creates the Black Knights in hopes to defeat Britannia and their oppression. Promare has Leo, leader of the Mad Burnish fight against the government that oppresses Burnish.
Both are great action-mecha anime with visual pleasing fights through most of their durations.
