Both shows tell the story of a young boy who has to grow up quickly in order to fulfill his destiny and protect the people he cares about. Both Oz (PH) and Masahiro (SO) have a lot of heart and courage, and both wish to be treated like adults.

Both main characters are big-hearted young boys who are thrown into difficult situations and often forced to make grown-up decisions.
In particular, the man-protecting-younger-boy friendship element between Oz and Gilbert is very similar to the one between Masahiro and Guren.
