Both Male Main Characters Had A Sad Pasts. Both Are Somehow Trying To Look Forward. And Different Girls Comes In Their Life
Both animes have a very melancholy and dramatic (at times) feel to them, while keep the anime upbeat. Both have a similar structure and the main characters are a bit similar. But Yuuichi shows more self-confidence while Junichi is more depressive a times.

The emotions it provokes in the episodes are vastly similar. having been looking for a harem series to do the same since I watched Kanon back in 2006. its similar also in how each girl gets her turn but in Kanon it is one continuous story.
-Both animes's setting/story goes by an omnibus format, and have small arcs that can either or not be diverging from the central plot of the story (with the setting intact)
-Both can be considered BUT IS. NOT. a harem, since the anime concentrates on one heroine to the next.
