Both are in my top favorite anime list. Both include an ordinary teenage girl who gets transported into a medieval era type world with strange creatures where they must fullfill a destiny. Yokko is a high-schooler though,while Kagome is a middle schooler, the demons in Inuyasha are replaced,but monster called Youmas in Twelve Kingdoms,most of which can't talk, instead of the "demons" being part human, there are people who can turn into animals.
