School club based shows centered on a delusional girl who can't distinguish real life and fiction, or rather can't get over her fantasies. Both are also kind of a supporting harem, where our main guy is surrounded by other girls but we all already know the "main girl" he will probably end up in the end.
A socially awkward dark haired girl can't separate reality from fantasy/games, leading to altercations which cause embarrassment, and protagonist tries to lead them towards a normal high school life. Both series have a club with only female members and one male, it functions to hide their complexes from classmates. Elements of romance can be found in both series.

+ Supporting cast sometimes can get on your nerves, but without them both shows would be

In both cases, these include a haughty, popular girl (Shinka/Akane) and a really smart girl who comes from a rich family (Dekomori/Kyo).
Both shows also notably avoid the harem route, as despite both of them having a main cast of one guy and a bunch of girls, only Rikka and Ako show any interest in Yuuta and Hideki, respectively, with the

I think chuunibyou is a masterpiece, but here's a slimier one..
~both have females characters that can't tell the difference between reality and games/imagination.
~both are romance, Comedy and School shows.
~both are Harem, i don't see any other characters than the main one!
~both are short and fun to watch (12 episodes)
