Balancing out values. High Score Girl and Chuunibyou explain the balance between what is fun, and what is the reality. Both anime have MCs who try to uphold standards whilst fighting off that which doesn't follow those standards. In the case of Hi-Score, Oono is made to study and live a high-quality life despite her love for playing games.
