Finding yourself. Finding a place to belong. The way characters care about each other. I believe in terms of heart-warmness these shows are similar and I am amazed no one has made this recommendation before. The art style in both series is also really well done. So if you are looking for similar aspects in those regards, here you go.
It's a lot sillier than March comes like a Lion is, but at a base level, I think the aspect about accepting your faults and yourself and overcoming self-hate, striving to improve after repeated failure. I think that's where the similarities lie. But yeah, the tone of Sakurasou is pretty different from Sangatsu. Although Sangatsu can be plenty silly when it wants to be.

Both tackle the ideas of finding yourself and what you are passionate about. Whereas Sakurasou is much more romance-driven than Sangatsu, whilst watching, I kept seeing comparisons in the dialogue and the overall feel of both shows. Would definitely recommend the pair of them.
