This applies to the Animatrix in general. It's another compilation of short stories based on an existing property, each with its own style and all. Works out quite well as the Matrix is largely inspired by anime.
If you like both franchises, Matrix and Halo, then you'll probably enjoy Halo Legends if you enjoyed Animatrix or vice versa. The films have very similar concepts. They are both collections of short films that explore more deeply some of the nuances of these universes. They each provide short films that go deeper into the history of the universes they take place in, and also provide more personal stories regarding the kinds of people who live in these universes. They both offer a variety of story types and art styles about a variety of different kinds of people. Definitely, recommend one or the other to
