Both are about the friendship between a gang leader and a more ordinary person and involve the gangster protecting his friend who gets dragged into the trouble of a more violent world. The "ordinary" person in both are actually formidable and manly (no wimpy ukes here). The relationships are cute and feel good with some good fights thrown in.
