Very similar concept and both are sci fi romances where it is about the perspective of the world and how far you can reach into the sky.
Both much or less are similiar drama fantasy. Like the MC and the heroine, they're helping each other to get out from the messed up situation. Even though both aren't much related (or even not related idk) you'll feel the same atmosphere when you watch both.
-Both of these titles involve a supernatural background with the characters spending some screen-time in the air
-The same amount of romance can be felt in both, albeit a bit more pronounced in Tenki no Ko
-If you enjoyed the supernatural part of either, you will most likely love the other movie as well :)
