These films showcase the development of a friendship and partnership between two teenagers in various dystopian worlds, with circumstances forcing both protagonists to empathise with one another through 'stepping into each others shoes'. Both make the viewer question life and try to find the meaning behind the plot, providing a throughly entertaining watch.

Both bring a whole different perspective of the world (surprise the viewer), and are about an apparently impossible relationship.

Your Name was my favorite anime movie before I watch this masterpiece :P
- Both have absolutely incredible visuals.
- Both centre around supernatural phenomena and watching as the characters attempt to deal with their consequences.
- Both have romantic plot lines between a boy and a girl who start off hating one another before growing closer during their adventures.
- Let’s be honest, both will probably make you cry.
