Full Moon wo Sagashite and Sugar Sugar Rune both follow the story of two youg girls put in such situations they are forced to mature rapidly as they learn more and more about ways life itself works, make friends and enemies along the way and overcome challenges to become better persons themselves.
Be aware, however, Full Moon wo Sagashite takes a much more serious approach to its settings compared to the relatively light-heartedness of Sugar Sugar Rune and might prove too overwhelming for those looking for more easy-to-diggest experience such as the former.
Be aware of that before watching.
