Dialogue heavy with focus on the mystery genre. Rather than focusing on one mystery/case it tends to be an episodic style that does one per episode (Hyouka changes a bit later though) Shaft and Kyoto Animation both animate these really nicely as well.

Based around a school, students investigate random mysteries which they believe may have ties to the occult. Koyomimonogatari is more episodic, whereas Hyouka starts off similarly but finds a plot.

Although Koyomimonogatari is one of the later installments in the Monogatari Series, it varies from the rest of the series in that it mainly consists of side stories which are objectively less important compared to the rest of the series. The first side story in Koyomimonogatari is what drove me to make this comparison as it parallels perfectly with Hyouka especially when compared to cases like "the hanging man in room 7." Overall I believe that Hyouka relates to Koyomimonogatari more than the rest of the franchise. This is not to say that if you enjoyed Hyouka go watch Koyomimonogatari and ignore the rest, but   read more

Both shows are about a high school boy resolving mysteries with lots of dialogue. They are episodic in nature, so they explore multiple stories instead of a single overaching plot.
