THe main characters in both shows live a hikikomori lifestyle until a mysterious girl 'welcomes' them to the outside world. Both characters also display many of the positive schizophrenic symptoms.
The main protagonists from both series have difficulties trusting others, even when they seem to have good intentions. The first wrong act and they'll feel even more betrayed until they become hikikomori. And like most of the hikikomoris, they're addicted (or become addicted) to the 2D world, as an issue.
Both main characters are similar to eachother, as they both live a hikkikomori and otaku lifestyle and suffer from paranoia and delusions. Both have the same craziness.
Both revolve around otaku's as their main character and have alot of similarities. Also, both are great! :D
Both have a leading character leading a hikikomori lifestyle. Chaos head is more thought based while welcome to the NHK has slightly better comedy elements.
Both has an otaku as the main character who goes through a psychological plot

The main character in Welcome to the N.H.K is also a hikikomori. While Takumi (in Chaos;HEad) is convinced every thing is a delusion, Satou is convinced everything is a conspiracy. Both are very good psychological anime that will hopefully twist your mind pleasantly.

The male protagonists in both anime are "hikikomoris" (recluses) that start out with similar troubles differentiating their self-delusions in their heads with the reality surrounding outside them. Both meet and make new friends throughout their respective stories. The male protagonists in both anime gradually move on from their reclusive tendencies, and near the end, despite lingering fears and doubts, are somehow able to both muster up the courage to save the day.
Both main Characters are hikikomoris who suffur from delusions. Welcome to the NHK is more a a slice of life, while Chaos;head is more of a sci-fi

The male protagonists of these shows believe that there is someone or something out to get them and they meet girls who offer their help. The stories are different however, as Chaos;Head is sci-fi while Welcome to the NHK! leans more towards drama.
The protagonists in both shows exhibit hikikomori (shut-in) and otaku life styles. In addition, they suffer from severe paranoia and delusions. Would the entrance of a single mysterious and beautiful girl change each male lead's life?

Even though there are some differences between these two anime -ChaoS is more mystery and NHK is more comedy- both have also a few similarities. In both anime, the protagonist is a male hikikomori and both are of the psychological genre. Both Satou and Takumi have delusions and don't know how to cope with them. How they deal with their situations is interesting to see and I think both are nicely made shows.

Both are thrillers about a guy who shuts himself up in his room and has hallucinations. In both the main charcther is slowly getting used to the real world with the help or women for the most part and both main charcthers have these hallucinations for the whole series and both shows can be creepy at times but for the majority they are both very enjoyable. Welcome to the NHK is more of a spice of life drama where as Chaos;head seems the same at first with a little horror quickly turns into a supernatural action.
Takumi (CH) and Satou (NHK) are relatively similar, both psychologically struggle for social fears, and help from a girl with no other interest.
