Both series takes place at a school setting between a group of friends in their every day life. The catch? There is some supernatural elements involved in which we don't see often (if at all) in normal high school settings.
Both series involves a club where most of the main characters are part of. Together, they make the most of their school lives while dealing with drama and other incidents.
There seems to be a love triangle in both series and the main male protagonist is in the center of it all.

Well, they're both slice-of-life anime with a hint of the supernatural.
Both have romance that builds throughout the shows.
Both are generally funny, but tend to have tendencies to become very quickly dramatic, and very overly dramatic as that. If you can look past the unrealistic drama, then you will surely enjoy both of these otherwise brilliantly executed shows. :)

Both have a nice sense of romance and good grasps of the supernatural. They both have to go through tough times cooperating as a team.
Both shows are character driven stories with supernatural twists requiring the characters to trust each other with each others secrets, and in both shows this leads to romance. In Kotoura-san she can read minds, and in kokoro connect the supernatural twist changes, from body-swapping to Mind reading (in the OVAs). Neither of the shows dwell on why the phenomenom happen, but fous on how it affects the characters.
Both have drama (with Kokoro connect focusing on it more so) and they take you on a entertaining rollercoaster of emotions as you watch character relationships change due to supernatural cirumstances.
