Nozaki's protagonist's attitude is highly reminiscent of DKnN characters. Laid back, unobtrusive, and at the same time producing an unexpected amount of humorous turn-abouts in seemingly regular and mundane situations.
Both series excel at using situational (scenario whose development that betrays audience's usual expectation) irony to entertain the viewers in daily lives setting. Most of the scenes take place either in school, at one's home, or on the path between the two. Don't be fooled into thinking that they are boring, though, because each episode brings something new that will surely entertain you.

Both are light-hearted parodies of common anime tropes. Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun's colorful cast subverts pretty much every shoujo sterotype in the book. Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou flips the script about young shounen protagonists with a series of tales about high school boys doing normal high school boy things (which is ironic given the fact that it's a collaboration between Sunrise and Square Enix--the first episode even makes fun of this).
Two very enjoyable all-comedy anime. Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun is more on the romance side, however, the heroine may not be so lucky. They both give you the same amount of laughs and keep you entertained with each episode.

Set in a school and starring people who face one ridiculous event after another, both anime have hilarious moments en masse. Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou is more about the comedy, whereas Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun also has romance as well as the process of manga-making.
Even though the main characters are different, elements of both stories are very smiliar.
- There is no set "main character," the shows are just a mix of many reoccuring characters.
- All of the characters thrust themselves in very awkward situations that doesn't contribute to anything except for laughs and second-hand embarrassment.
- A lot of second-hand embarrassment. And I mean A LOT.
- It's a slice of life comedy, so if you like one, you'll probably like the other.

The comedy and the layout is really similar, although this one includes more romance! It's been a long time since Danshi Koukousei before I've laughed so easily.
