Zankyou no Terror

I guess both shows are centered plot-wise around terrorism phenomena.
The first episode of Zankyou no Terror made me think of Mawaru Penguidrum immediately. Parallels between the Boiler Room and the testing facilities can be drawn since it's about abandoned kids. The terrorism that doesn't quite make sense. Trio with weak female lead but a strong bond between the two males. The art is pretty similar, but while ZnT makes use of more earthen dark tones, MP uses neon colors and abstract patterns.

Similar plot, yet a bit different because Mawaru Penguindrum is more trippy and imaginative in a sense while ZnT goes hardcore into bombs and police drama. Don't spoil yourself because it's best to watch it without knowing it. The main plot in both shows are based off similar ideas, to be brief.
Anyway, both have abstract directing, stylish animation and similar character patterns: One girl, two guys, another female enemy and more.
