Both are frightening hard science fiction dystopias by the master of japanese sci-fi horror, Tsutomu Nihei. Incredible scenery, eerie silences and just as eerie music, uncanny looking characters and a wholehearted attempt to capture the setting and feel of Nihei's incredible manga. If you like one you'll also like the other. Blame! is sadly only a six part miniseries but Knights of Sidonia is the first full length anime of a Tsutomu Nihei project and it's already hitting the ground running with mecha action, grunge starships and transhumans trying to preserve the human race under the threat of horrific space monsters called Guanas.
