The shows have a lot of similarities: great animation, reverse harem theme, motivational and feel-good tone to each episode, overall light and positive vibes. I guess if you want to be cynical you can say both shows follow the same 'script'. Personally I enjoyed them both and I think if you like one you'll definitely like the other.

I am surprised that nobody has recommended this anime has a fantastic sub for Prince Sama, bc Magic Kyun practically the 2017 version of the latter. And with lesser tropes+stunning visuals. Here are the similarities (copied from a YouTube comment):
- Both main characters have a dead family member
- Both talk to their dead family members about their accomplishments
- They transfer to a school for talented people
- Both characters fell ill on the day of their entrence exam
- They meet beautiful and super talented guys who gradually start liking the MCs
- Their room mates both have the same personalities

I felt like I was watching the same show, they're both based off an otome game and have those weird artsy fartsy scenes where the protagonist flies around in the sky while music plays
Both are reverse love harems with singing, lots of color, and a similar protaganist.
