A very similar comparison when it comes to the fatherly figure thing that goes on, both are very heart-warming.
Both shows depict a parental figure and their sense of duty to care for a child who is not their own. As the shows continue the bond between child and parent grows, which in turn will allow the viewer to become connected with the characters.

Both these series are about father-daughter relationships involving surrogate fathers attempting to raise a child under tough circumstances. One of these shows is a mushy kids cartoon that takes place in a fantasy world run by monsters who eat humans and the other is a fucking masterpiece.

A touching story about a child and a parental figure while the bond between them grows as the episodes go on
It's same as a parenting anime including iyashikei elements and I feel the story is quite underrated
