Both names that come up when people mention must-see anime classics. Compelling post-apocalyptic sci-fi settings that blend episodic plots with brilliant character development. In the whole, they form a story about human connection and the importance of embracing the world that you live in.

Two celebrated shows from the 90’s that re-created both the psychological and the space like atmosphere of trying to survive in a world that feels like you’re about to self-destruct in a world of madness

A reminiscence, all too well known for aesthetics, themes, characters, and stories, a timeless masterpiece is something many would describe these two anime. Cowboy Bebop and NGE are both key anime used to describe what anime was in the past (before it died). A lot of people would think now...wait what=this is so different to cb. But I think Evangelion is similar because its also like science fiction-fantasy and it is similar because it has psychological elements and every single episode of both anime are very complex and different. The pacing is also very fast in both anime.

The animation, presentation and directing both are very alike, so despite the difference in story, the way in which they are both showcased is very similar and provides a cohesive appeal between the two. That, and the crossover in fanbases is huge. I've never met a fan of one that wasn't a fan of the other.

Both are classic shows, both based in a future setting with lots of action and battle scenes. Both give off a similar feeling and vibe.

Both are classic 90s animes that I think are a must watch for everyone. If you liked one of these, you'll probably like the other. The art styles are similar, and they have very interesting takes on the sci-fi genre.
