Based Pluto review

Hello~ do you still remember me? I want to let you know that I've completed two seasons of Uchouten Kazoku! Yay!

It took a longer time than I expected... but I enjoyed it :) This might be a long comment again so I'll apologize in advance.

Okay, now, what did I think of Uchouten Kazoku? I really liked the first season! It was great. There were so many emotions that came up in me, especially the part about Yajirou... even just remembering it makes me almost cry. I still remember well that I wrote on the forum with teary eyes.. it was so beautiful and personally touched me, making me reflect on many, many things within myself. Because of that, I think she's my favorite character here. But interestingly, after I finished the first season, I realized that I was actually complimenting Yasaburou throughout the episodes. I really admire the way she sees, responds, and deals with things around her. I don't know why, maybe it's because he's so laid back and the most aho of the Shimogamo boys? Hahaha. He causes trouble and chaos but somehow it gets resolved in an amazing way.. both in a positive and negative sense lol. He can always 'have fun' in any situations.

Until when I watched the second season, I honestly didn't enjoy it as much as the first season. It was still very good, but it felt like there were some values, things, or points that I liked that were missing. There were so many moments and things that I liked about the second season, but like... the charming points that made me like it were missing. I wonder what it is... maybe because there are so many things to be resolved in the second season? (Nidaime, Benten, Kaisei, there's Tenmaya and Ebisugawa too, and then Yaichirou who's going to be Niseimon...) although everything is connected and ended well, but I feel like, wah, there are so many conflicts happening at the same time, that I don't feel a satisfying ending... like, okay, I guess why Nidaime feels sensitive every time he sees Benten is because she looks like the woman he once loved? And it turns out Benten is his father's disciple, but like... didn't they only meet once in England? And Nidaime immediately disliked her? But what is Benten's reason for not liking Nidaime? Wasn't the only scene shown when they accidentally met in England with Benten's sad look on her face? I feel like I'm missing something..

Though I also feel like Nidaime actually doesn't really hate her, I think the scene where he breathed fire on Benten's was for her sake because the truth is he didn't want to hurt her more. Somehow there's a little part of me that think that Sensei knows what kind of woman Nidaime once loved and the reason he kidnapped Benten to the point of taking care of her and making her into a tengu was so that she could end up with Nidaime... but it might be too late because since that incident Nidaime decided to live as a human and Benten lived as.. well, Benten. But maybe that's too impossible... or not?

There was a moment where Yasaburou said that he actually knows that he is not the one Benten needs or wants.. so what does she really want or need?

I then realized that Yasaburou has a childish nature and it was quite obvious in this season, so I think this season also developed Yasaburou's character to the point where he accepted the fate that he would marry Kaisei. People have said that they realized that deep down inside Yasaburou, he has actually liked Kaisei for a long time. Do you also agree? I actually think that the moment when he invited Kaisei to join the tsuchinoko expedition squad, that's where I felt that he wanted to get close and get to know Kaisei more deeply before deciding whether he would marry her, but after hearing grandma's words and (probably) remembering all the things Kaisei did to him, it made him think and make up his mind that he would marry Kaisei. Does this have anything to do with why he reverts to his tanuki form every time he sees Kaisei?

But aside from those things, I, honestly from the bottom of my heart, am happy with many things too ;) of course the moment that makes me the most happy is Yajirou being able to return to his human form and tanuki too! And Yaichirou and Gyokuran's wedding too, I think it's very sweet, really the sweetest moment in the midst of all this chaos. Kaisei and Yasaburou's moment is also cute, I hope one day Yasaburou can see Kaisei freely~ :)

I hope Uchouten Kazoku will get a third season, whenever that may be. I need a perfect closure about Benten and the continuation of Yasaburou and Kaisei's relationship too.

First of all, I want to thank you for the two gifts!

I smiled when I got Uchouten Kazoku as a gift, because... I just finished Gin no Saji a month ago, and people on the forum said that those two were the best Slice of Life anime of Summer 2013. After knowing that I was pretty sure that I would most likely enjoy it.

That being said, I decided to watch it later because I wanted to save the best for last. But thanks for picking that, I see you can guess pretty precisely and accurately about what I like in an anime. I was quite worried because my requests and likes are quite specific, so I'm glad I was able to get something that suits my tastes :)

Then, I decided to watch Appare-Ranman! first. I honestly didn't know that this anime existed. So thank you~

My expectation was that I would see a racing match, but it turned out to be more about... a boy who created a steam-powered car? and the conflicts of each character. I still liked it because it was unique and I think it was the first time I watched something like that.

I also like Appare, he's quirky, eccentric, a bit awkward with a bit of arrogance. His appearance is also very... eye-catching. It's just that Hototo's drama/conflict kinda ruined my enjoyment, and that fuss with Gil was too long...

Hey, I just realized while typing this, what was Gil's reason for doing that? Does he just enjoy ruining other people's happiness? I feel like he has a God-complex where he wants everything to be ruled by his hand, because he feels like he's the strongest and invincible. But what's his reason for doing that?

Aside from Gil's existence and Hototo's conflict, I like everything in Appare-Ranman. Especially Xia Lian, hehehe (⁄ ⁄>⁄ ▽ ⁄<⁄ ⁄)
