I no longer track my anime and manga habits on MyAnimeList anymore. You can now find me here at AniList.
I have been watching anime regularly since around October 2013. Before then, I watched both Death Note and Elfen Lied during my high school years, and Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu and Lucky☆Star a few months before anime watching became a regular thing for me.
Beginning October 2014, I have also started reading manga occasionally, with Ping Pong as my first completed series.
My favourite form of Japanese media is probably the visual novel. However, due to VNs requiring a lot of investment on the reader's part, and my being in a field of study that makes it difficult to focus on them as much as I would like, I don't read them very often.
I'm also learning Japanese. I'd say I'm somewhere around beginner level.
How I rate works in general:
9-10: Enjoyed it enough to call it a favourite
6-8: Enjoyed it enough to say that I like it
4-5: Enjoyed it satisfactorily
1-3: Felt bored with it or—in rare cases—reacted aversely to it
To be honest though, my ratings these days have begun to feel increasingly arbitrary. I'm finding it more and more difficult to reduce my opinions to mere numbers.
About the tags on my Anime List:
I have tagged (or have tried to tag) the seasons of all anime beginning with 2014 Winter (when I started following anime seasons). Other tags include:
Late: I started this anime after it finished aired.
Late start: I started this anime approximately one month or more after it started airing.
Late finish: I finished this anime approximately two weeks or more after it finished airing (only applies to anime I started while it was airing).
Anime first: If I've read the anime's original source material, I watched the anime first.
Manga first: Likewise, except I read the manga first.
Visual novel first: Likewise, except I read the visual novel first.
Other info:
My "Dropped" list isn't permanent, per se. I just put stuff there that I am very unlikely to pick up again in the future.
My lists will almost always be up to date. I'm obsessed with list-making.
