Hello there, friend!
We at the Australian & New Zealand Anime Club are proud to present... Our very first newsletter!
This community was founded on the 28th of January - 2015, and since that time we've come a very long way.
You are only reading this because YOU made it possible by being a very important piece of what makes this club what it is.
That said, we are happy to announce that we're coming close to reaching the 1,000 Member Milestone!
It's a wonderful thing to know that there are so many fellow Aussies and Kiwis who love Anime and we hope that we only continue to grow from here on out.
About the newsletter:
So you might ask, what's this newsletter all about?
Well, great question. We've scratched our heads a few times and figured that this newsletter will be dedicated to letting you know that we're active!
Despite the substantial growth of our club, there is still a handful of you that we still haven't had the pleasure of getting to know.
We want you to understand that this is a safe and fun club, but if you're shy then we're not going to force you to participate, this is simply to remind you that there is a place for everyone at this club, so if you ever warm up - come and say hi!
Here's what's happening right now:
We have a wide selection of club activities that you can participate in, from anime discussion to club games or casual conversation.
Anyone in the club is free to make up whatever thread they feel would interest people!
What we hopefully have planned for the future:
GFX Competitions, Giveaways, Club Member of the Month, Gaming Groups and more!
So, other than that, there isn't much to say this time around but hopefully the next time we have to do this, there is much more to look forward to.
We again are thankful to have you, and hope that you come and have some fun with us sometime soon.
- Yours truly,
The Australian & New Zealand Anime Club.
Sorry for the late reply, my summer's been a tad busy but more than anything I've been distracted by anime and such so I've been slow in responding to a bunch of MAL conversations.
Ah, that's pretty strange indeed, quite different from how it is in America. I guess there's a lot of variety when it comes to schools across the world. And how were the holidays? Enjoyable, I hope? It's definitely a drag when teachers say to study over break, it's a break for a reason, after all. There really shouldn't be any schoolwork involved during weeks off of school, otherwise students just burn out and can't work properly, and that's definitely counterproductive.
Nice, it's definitely good to get a job and have a nice source of cash. I still haven't gotten a job yet but I'll probably get one on my college campus once school starts. And awesome, it does help to take some college courses in advance so you don't have to worry about them later. I'm actually planning to take Japanese once the year starts, I don't have any actual experience with speaking or writing Japanese so I'm looking forward to learning the language and hope it goes well.
How have the past few months been? Anything particularly interesting going on? And have you picked up any interesting anime recently?
Ahah no don't worry about it (referring to your pm + your comment).. I do have good taste (at least I think so) and could recommend you different anime :D
Btw I'm a very talkative person so don't be shy if you ever want to start a conversation I won't respond with just "k" or ignore you :)
Well as it happens, school is now over for me. I graduated last Thursday and it's a strange thing. I'm really happy to be done with high school and it's frustrating and monotonous work, yet it's a sad thing knowing I won't be seeing most of my friends for a while. It's a bizarre feeling lol. Have you graduated yet?
I'm really glad to have my summer break now, so much more free time to enjoy myself and to just relax for a change. Tomorrow my school's having its grad night at Disneyland (which is funny because it's 5 days after graduation and the whole day rather than that night, but moving on) and aside from the overpriced food I'll inevitably have to buy, I'm looking forward to it since I haven't gone in a long time. Are you planning to go to (or perhaps, have already gone to) your school's grad night?
Yeah definitely! It's a great thriller manga, it keeps you on the edge of your seat every chapter and has an incredible villain. You might enjoy it if you liked Death Note, although it doesn't have the supernatural elements that Death Note does.
