Hi, welcome to my trash page. I've been watching anime off and on since 2016, when I watched Death Note for the first time, although I have been exposed to anime regularly since I was a kid, with Sailor Moon and Code Geass.
My favorite kinds of shows are psychological horror and tragic romance, especially if either one have a dose of eldritch horror thrown in for good measure. I'm also all about how artsy an anime looks, with the more artsy the presentation and environments the happier I am. This shows in my favorite anime list, with all of the shows except FMA doing something interesting with their art direction. I'm especially particular to shows that incorporate abstract or surreal art styles, such as what studio shaft is known for.

My favorite show of all time is Girls' Last Tour, due to the interesting world building and environment art. The soundtrack, if nothing too special heard on it's own, is amazing in how it pairs with the show. It keeps the very depressing atmosphere intact while managing to maintain a jovial atmosphere with the titular girls. The world building is also amazing, you're never quite told what happened, but it's pretty clear the world has been through a lot. Even if Tkmiz never had a clear explanation for what happened, the way it was handled was great. It lets your imagination run wild!
Puella Magi Madoka Magica is on there for all of the reasons I like anime, it features tragic romance, psychological horror, eldritch abominations (two different kinds, too!) amazing art with an insane art style, and an amazing soundtrack that pulls it all together.
I particularly like Evangelion due to it's very psychedelic ending, and I like the very nihilistic atmosphere it builds throughout the show. It's also got a killer sound track, even if lots of it is clearly inspired by other songs, such as Decisive Battle, and Komm Sußer Tod.
Clannad: After Story is by far my favorite romance of all time. The first season when viewed on it's own is okay. It's not the best show ever, but in comparison to many other harem shows it is by far much better done. After Story on the other hand, is only a Harem for the first half, and even then it's only technically one. After that, it veers down it's own path, and the path it takes is amazing. The soundtrack is also pretty killer too, and if you're familiar with other Key works you will be right at home with the music. I also really like the art style, probably my second favorite anime character design wise aside from Madoka Magica. The male cast's eye size and general style being consistent with the female characters is what really sells it for me, along with the very soft character designs in general.
Made in Abyss is the anime that really got me into eldritch horror in anime, and with it's horror themes and amazing art, its really the anime that made me start appreciating the art side of things. It also has what is definitely my favorite sound track of all time.
Fullmetal Alchemist is on here for the same reasons as Eva, minus the artistry and crazy memorable soundtrack. It has great nihilistic themes, eldritch abominations and horror, and a psychological horror story that will keep you up at night, if you think any farther than the events directly shown in the show. This is one show I also think is better upon re-watching the show. You know what they are in for, and by the end of the show it's clear how much the characters have grown as people. It sucks that this show suffers from strange comedic moments interspersed in a tragic story like it is. Also, when I say the art isn't like eva, I'm not saying that eva or this show has worse art, I'm saying eva did much more interesting things with it's art.
My anime rating works like this:
10 are some of the greatest of all time, and definitely favorites. Exception: Girls Last Tour. This is not one of the greatest, it is the greatest of all time.
9 are really good and worth rewatching multiple times.
8 are good and totally at least worth watching once.
7 are okay. Not anything special, but if you do decide to watch it its worth the time spent. Exception: Goblin Slayer. I wanted to like it more, but the show was just too heavy on making sure you know the goblins are rapists and the like. If it weren't for that I'd rate it higher.
6 is where my scores start being negative. Here its okay, there are maybe one or two redeeming qualities but overal its not very good. If you do watch it you'd be within reason to find a dub version and play a game or work or something while this is playing, instead of paying 100% attention.
5 aren't worth watching, usually. There is at least one exception, Code Geass which is completely worth watching just to experience one of the kings of 00's anime, but in my opinion what I managed to get through was bland and boring. This is the only show I've rated that I haven't completed, and I do intend to trudge through it just so I can say I watched it. If this will be in the next 5 years is another question entirely.
4 and below are garbage, the lower it is the more it deserves to be incinerated with fire. Looking at you Conqueror of Shambala.
I don't like to rate things I don't finish, including manga and generally I only finish a manga if I like it, so that's why my manga rating is high. BTW Houseki no Kuni is absolutely something else. Read it if you like stories like evangelion, its amazing.
The Girls' Last Tour ED is literally the best ED ever and if you disagree you're objectively braindead.
Also I really like Korpiklaani so if you wanna talk about Folk Metal DM me I need more folk metal friends.
