Hello all and welcome to my profile. I am Wesley (like the title ;D) and I have been an anime fan for a long time. I have spent a lot of my childhood and pubescent years watching anime and reading manga, but reaching teenager to young adult I've been on pause on anime. I still absolutely cherish the wonderful genre that is anime and I love many works. I've decided to get back into this site (as I've been on and off with MAL for 2 years) and start fresh again. I won't be watching and reading too much at the start, but I plan on getting back into it now that summer is indeed approaching and I will have plenty of free time. I also love to express my opinion on many things so I plan on reviewing more in the future when I come to an item that affects me somehow that I need to speak up.
My first anime viewings were in my early childhood when I didn't even know anime existed. I was the Pokemon kid for sure. Definitely anything on 4Kids was my big involvement. I didn't really get heavy set into anime until I was watching Cartoon Network and they aired Sprited Away. I recorded it and watching it a gazillion times, loving the movie to bits (and still do). Hayao Miyazaki made an absolutely brilliant movie and has made many other influential astonishingly wonderful films but Spirited Away took the cake for getting me interested. I then also was curious by hearing a ton about Naruto, the popular ninja shonen anime/manga that is still known to be huge to this day. I remember watching at least 2 seasons in 1 week and still watching through because I was so intrigued and involved in a concept meant for me at the time. Since I knew it wasn't made in America I had to look up these other creations, and then just a huge boom of flowing anime appeared. Netflix and the internet really got my sites going and then when I found this site, my anime interests were brauded as I was watching many different animes. It got to the point where I was so involved on a daily basis I needed to take a break, thus my 2 year hiatus occurred. I have missed anime and even though I glance from stuff time to time, I really missed the feeling of being ecstatic to watch and finish a series and delve straight into another one. Now that I have more time on my hands, I plan on making more of a commitment than my previous failures.
*crosses fingers*
Please feel free to friend and comment and let me know some good anime/manga I haven't picked up yet so I can get straight to it! Thanks guys! ~Wesley 04.15.12
