its not about the tone, its about what happened there.
Phos achieves enlightenment, fulfills its task by making the lunarians take a trip to the wheel of samsara and spends the rest of its existence creating genuine bonds with stones that consider it their friend, unlike gems. The final volume is the pure apology of Buddhism that the author had been working on throughout the entire series. Ended at chapter 108 is another buddhist myth, and mark an end, the union of the self, the transparency of the mind and the process of transformation towards the infinite
"Infinite" because the mangaka ended on purpose with phos turnin into a comet resembling at the same week the Pons-brooks-pons comet is visible on earth for the first time in 70 years. Phos' character ended embracing hope after suffering, again enlightment after be used as a martyr and tool by everyone; She never had a chance to be free with her own being
> The ending doesn't help either! No real satisfaction, no real closure for the characters, the entire thing ends in what feels like an autistic outbreak by the author. And again, it removes so much of the seriousness that couldve been accomplished.
You really didnt get what the author tried to acomplish there.
This list is amazing, and i would argue that its immaculate, it has fixed my unstable relationship, cured my autism and blindness, it seems that you read a lot of underground seinen, honestly almost impossible to add anything to this list maybe read Vinland Saga?
