LOL - not really, but that's only because I know that the term "otaku" has negative connotations in Japan. I prefer to think of myself as a passionate advocate of anime and manga as storytelling media :)
What are the odds of finding a fellow Lebanese-Canadian here? :D Nice to meet you!
Sounds like my story, only inverted :P I went to Lebanon for school. but ended up coming back to Canada for university XP I'm currently a second year English major :]
An AUB graduate~! WOW I suddenly feel like I'm talking to a genius! *o* So what did you major in? :)
I've heard of these titles but sadly they're not to my taste (I'm very picky >_<) But I think a friend of mine has interests similar to yours. I'm sure you two would get along :D
Yeah that's what I hate about it though~ T_T I'm not much of a manga reader (if anything I kinda hate it) but if I REALLY liked an anime with an open or unsatisfying ending, then I resort to the manga. I've never finished series though... OTL
Despite my list size, I actually haven't watched a lot of quality anime to make proper suggestions, but I would say shows like Hunter x Hunter, No.6, Saiunkoku Monogatari, and Space Brothers are DEFINITELY worth checking out! And if I were to refer to my "plan to watch" list, then Baccano!, Code Geass, Mawaru Penguindrum (I dunno why, but I think you'll like this :)), Natsume Yuujinchou, Mushishi, Samurai Champloo, and Taishou Yakyuu Musume are the ones I'm most interested to start ^^
Ah, I see :D Thank you so much~~ Inshallah byin3ad 3alek w 3a 2ahlak bil si77a wl 3afyeh ^^ (sorry if you can't read that; I can't type in Arabic @w@;;; )
I was born in Canada :) Originally I'm from Lebanon though, and I lived there for 10 years before coming back to Canada. Now I live in Windsor (about 4 hours away from Toronto ;) )
You plan to go back to Toronto? So that means you don't live there anymore.. Where are you living now? :)
hmm, well I tend to go for drama in anime, but not the dramatic. Heavy drama starts to get annoying and puts me off, unless it's done really well, like in Hotarubi no Mori e and The Girl Who Leapt through Time, both of which I REALLY recommend watching! :)
I generally watch any kind of genre as long as it interests me. I stay away from horror shows and sometimes mecha shows, but that's not always a constant :P Of course I stay away from those yaoi, shoujo-ai, ecchi stuff too >_>;
Oh, and I prefer anime over manga ^^ (even if the manga is waaaaaaay better)
