oh yeah there's also hanamonogatari. If you want to follow the novel order, watch it in the middle of second season (it's been like 3 years I kinda forgot which episode to switch on sorry)

personally I watched Kizu after Bake. I think it's pretty integral for understanding some relationships in the story, and saving it for later could maybe make things confusing. having that context really made some scenes more impactful for me, and I don't think they would have hit as hard without it. some people say that the anime is presented a bit differently to the novels, making it so that it's intended to be viewed later but I don't really agree with that tbh... also the movie is what 100% sold me on the series, I liked Bake but after watching Kizu I fell in love with the series.

I read the first novel around 2 years ago, but other than that nah. I heard a lot of the nuance of the series can get lost in translation, so it's kinda a big goal of mine to one day get fluent enough in japanese to understand the novels lol. with the recent announcement, I've been thinking of maybe reading the LNs to remember everything cause it's been so long. I have been reading another work by the author on and off for the last year or so though, called the Zaregoto series. If you end up liking Monogatari, I'd recommend it for sure. btw what watch order are you doing for the series? there's a ton of debate on when the film trilogy should be watched. it's like the third novel in the series, but because of production hell it was released towards the end of the anime lol. and yeah, lmk what you think of the first season when you finish it!!!

yeah I'm super excited about the announcement, I've been waiting years for it lol. glad you're enjoying it so far! and yeah Hitagi is great, one of my favorite characters in the series. I love the entire cast so much, and each character is so unique imo. I think you'll really like one that's introduced a bit later... also I 100% agree with you on the soundtrack, both the OPs and general soundtrack are so good. the way the soundtrack, dialogue and editing come together make for such an interesting style that's so unique to Monogatari.
