Hello! For the sake of this environment, my name is Umi.
The name umicorm is aa combination of my love for unicorns,
and the little picture of the hamster with a kernel of corn that says, "I has a corm."
I also love that it means Ocean in Japanese, that is a plus.
I'm 30, a woman, a divorcee, and a cat mom. I live in the northwestern edge of the USA.
Lucky to be choosing and be chosen by my ideal boyfriend.
You can message me to chit chat if you like things like...

I think I might do the same. Not sure about the last unicorn... it's a beautiful story but it used to frighten me as a child, but the ending makes up for everything :)
And Anastasia is a perfect movie for december/winter season!
Oh you have an account already? Haha, awesome. Maybe you can get it back, or alternatively make a new account and say you lost access to your old account (you can make a ticket there I'm sure!)
If you like neopets, maybe you should also check out "Subeta" :) I've been registered there for years.

What's up?
I'm listening to music (groove is in the heart - Dee lite)
How about you?
The dreaded "haha", the unavailing "wyd", the omnipotence of the "yeah". I'm very familiar with these incantations. I'd say that any/all conversations are bound to go down that road eventually, unless you're both on the same page and stay on that page. However, whenever you do hit that mutual wavelength, it can be downright comfy. Stoke the coals with a new subject and keep it comfy, though continuing with this analogy. I suppose if you stoked the fire too much you'd probably end up toasty.
I've always enjoyed a sort of penpalish approach, I guess is what I'm pretending to say. As in, rather than popping messages every few seconds/minute until you run dry, it's comfy to make a ritual out of replying to someone every night/afternoon or whenever, just expanding things bit by bit, sometimes thinking about it throughout the day. Makes it much easier to have quality convos on important subjects such as anime and/or green tea, and always has ya looking forward to something. I have an Australian buddy that I talked to daily for 2 years straight barely missing a beat in this format, but he's way too busy to have any campfire time nowadays.
I have very fond memories of InuYasha yet I somehow completely let it slip my mind for years now. It's all sorta flooding in at the moment. I think it's the only childhood anime I haven't gone back to re-watch in Japanese. I agree wholeheartedly on the dubs being more fun to rewatch. When I go back to relive my childhood, it's way more satisfying to watch the dub. Otherwise, I mostly avoid them. They're generally poorly voiced, but not all. Toradora has a good one, which I watched just to say that I did it. That's a special case tho. Normally I wouldn't re-watch for the dub.
My brother's wife gave me a similar memory to that. Back when I was probably 9 or 10 and I was just getting to know her, she gave me her entire Dragon Ball Z dvd collection to win me over [or for whatever reason] and told me to finish it and give it back to her in 30 days. I'm almost certain that she kicked me down the rabbithole that is this hobby. I had watched anime before that, but never had I been that absorbed in it.
Death Note is the only anime I've ever watched inside a moving vehicle. I remember starting it on a 9 hour drive, and then finishing it on the drive back. My brother teased me when he noticed me starting it, but then ended up just as absorbed in it as I was. Dang, you're just blasting me with memories right now.
As much as I love anime, I also find myself taking breaks from it. I'm mostly on a manga kick right now, also reading Spice and Wolf. What have you been reading lately, if you don't mind me asking?
I'm glancing through your profile and absorbing the airy vibes. For whatever reason, possibly just due to it being on your favorites list; I feel a really strong pull to go back and watch InuYasha. I believe it was back in 4th grade or so that I first watched it in English and I don't believe I've ever gone back to it. I think I'm going to have to revisit it and watch it in it's native audio. I've done this with all of my other childhood anime, but I don't think I ever even added InuYasha "my anime list."
Happy New Years umicorm
I hope it's a good year for you!
