I'm happy that you've watched it because it really seemed like your type of show judging from your favourites and relationship with PA Works. It doesn't really matter if it didn't become one of your favourites, the important thing is that you've liked it. You have to create a special bond to something in order to really call it your favourite, which of course always comes down to personal preferences. I don't even consider Nagi no Asukara to be the best or most flawless anime I've seen, it's just the one I'm most attached to.
Anyway, I'm really happy to find another PA Works enthusiasist here. It's always nice to come across people who find joy in the same things as you do. I guess, if you want to continue with their shows, the next one you should look at is propably Shirobako. Once again a show with amazing writing and strong female characters.
Would you mind if we add each other for possible furute conversations?
I've seen Hasanaku Iroha already and I gave it 8/10, very good show, but not as close to my heart as other PA Works pieces. Access to lists of other people is limited now, but I assure you that I've seen most of PA Works' shows. :D
I really love the studio. Their animation is amazing, especially in Nagi no Asukara (btw if you haven't seen, better start ASAP!). Their stories are maybe simple, but always able to deliver pure emotions with just the right ammount of drama and comedy. I also love that they can write really good characters and ones that actually develop over the course of the show (Ohana, Wakana, Chisaki to name a few). And, to say the last, they just do a really good job at making their shows interesting. Like, I can't remember an anime from PA during which I got bored. And I get bored pretty often nowadays.
That's about it, like I said, I really love the studio. They don't produce the most flashiest anime, they don't have the most complex storylines - but because of that, they can really focus on how to make their shows as best as they can be. Like most of their shows, they're underrated.
I always feel very delighted when I see people who love Tari Tari as much as I do. It really is a special series, sadly underrated by many.
Great on-point review.
