Yeah, okay. First off, I am a bit older then the majority of otaku here, but I don't care. My history with anime and manga started long ago, but only in the last seven years have I become an otaku!
I remember seeing Star Blazers and Speed Racer back in the 70's but I didn't know the meaning of anime back then, they were all just cartoons. In the late 80's I discovered Appleseed and Dragonball in the comic book shop. Oh, but in 2000 I got digital cable and I started seeing these cool shows on Encore at midnight. Then I got broadband... XD
Outside of Japanese obsessions, I am a steel worker, more precisely I am a structural steel fitter. I put in 50 hours of work during the week, on the weekends I cook! I bake a couple of loafs of bread every Sunday. Beyond baking I am also a pretty good cook.
Oh, I also play around doing creative stuff on the pc. Mainly 3D work in Lightwave and 2D vector stuff in Flash. I even once ran a very small graphics company on the side, mainly photoshop work restoring photographs. Not that I made much money, enough to buy my toys :)
